Once again, thanks for agreeing to become our next great detective team! Your mission is all booked in and you're ready to get started.
We've a few details which are really important for your game.
1. Watch the video
which gives an outline of how the game works.
2. Read the 'need-to-knows'.
3. Send all your players the unique game code so they can login when the game is live.
The game can be played from play.cluehq.co.uk.
Your team can have up to 6 connected devices, and as many players as you want to fit around those devices, but we recommend 1 device per player. Players can be anywhere in the world. We recommend connecting to each other through a live video conference which is separate to the device you'll be completing the puzzles on. We recommend apps like Zoom, Houseparty, and Skype - but there are others.
What Device Can I Use?
The bigger the better really, but most devices which can open up a browser/internet will be fine to use. You'll be seeing images, text, and videos as part of the game.
We've set up a test page to test your devices before the game.
IMPORTANT: We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome on Windows and macOS as web browser, or Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android. This is due to older browsers not supporting some of the functionality inside the game, which may make it harder to navigate.
What About Clues?
Help is available inside the game and you are able to open hints should you need them. Try to resist, however, as many games have been completed with zero puzzle help. You can message us via this specific Facebook page for additional help or technical support - but please note that responses may not always be immediate. Support normally stops 2 hours before the end time.
Wi-Fi or Data?
The game will work fine with a data connection, but due to the video streaming involved you might use a lot of it (and be charged by your provider). If possible, stick to Wi-Fi.
What Else Will I Need?
Pen and paper will be a must, for jotting down notes and helping you solve the puzzles involved.
Timings are crucial as the game is only open to
players at specific times.
Prior to your game, get your video call setup (if playing remotely) and enter the game code (at the bottom of this email) into all devices. You can take a team photo and upload (or take a screenshot of the video call group to upload) which we may publish on our social media.
Start Time and End Time
You can start the game any point after the start time, you just need to make sure you're finished by the end time (this is usually 12PM (noon) to 12AM (midnight) but some events may vary so check your confirmation if you're unsure). Your timer starts only for you and tracks a real time inside the game. So if you start the game at 3:30pm, do amazingly well and finish at 4:30pm, your completion time will be 1 hour and you'll be able to save a photo of your score for bragging rights.
At the end of the game, you'll be asked to submit your answer as to who you think the Clueminati member is. You can only do this once, so be sure that your answer is correct.
